Home Tour Tuesday

Since I am trying to be a good little blogger, I've decided to start doing Home Tour Tuesdays! Yay for me! When I started my blog I posted pictures of our house but we recently changed out some of the furnitire and decor.

First stop, the main living room.

We got a new sectional and new art on the wall which I am very thankful for!

This is the view from the front door. See the big, blank wall to the left? That will soon be covered with photos. I am in the process of turning that into a gallery wall and I am so excited about it. I also want to build in a mirror over the fireplace and find something to put over the tv.

This is the view from the other living room. That is Belle, one of our dogs! Don't you love the rug? It's from Crate and Barrel and I adore it!

My husband and father-in-law bulit in our tv stand and I couldn't be happier with it. It looks like it came with the house!

Springtime!

We planted our garden last weekend! We planted 3 different types of tomatoes, grape, heirloom, and beefsteak...yum, yum, yum!!! Last year our tomatoes did not do so well but we have high hopes for this year!

Above is rosemary, oregano, cilantro, parsely, and mint. We use the first 4 alot but I am looking into some recipes that incorporate mint for this year.

This is arugula. I thought it would be fun to have to make our own salads with. Or you can substitute it for basil in pesto for a different flavor.

This is our basil. Last year we planted one plant and it grew like crazy and we made a crazy amount of pesto. This year we plan to make even more so that we can eat it all winter. It is yummy and easy to pull out of the freezer if you forgot to lay something out for dinner!

We also have a blueberry bush from last year. We added a strawberry plant to the patio and my husband picked out a tabasco pepper plant but picasa is being a bit tricky today with loading pictures!

These are a sampling of pictures I have taken with my new camera. I have never owned a SLR camera but this one is fantastic! I am in love with it. I don't know much about it, yet, but I am slowly learning as I go and I am having fun at the same time!

Carrie does it again!!

Carrie Underwood won entertainer of the Year again last night at the ACM's last night! She is always so elegant and classy! I love the way that she takes the time to thank God and all those that helped her get to where she is today!

She wouldn't be Carrie Underwood unless she did a few wardrobe changes! Take a look at the beautiful dresses she chose! The white one above is probably my favorite! It's simple but stunning and she looks gorgeous!

I love this dress she wore during "Temporary Home." The colors are amazing!

This mini dress is beautiful but oh-so-short! I would be terrified to wear it but Carrie pulled it off!

This dress kinda makes me want to run out and buy a one shoulder dress, but where oh where could I wear it?

Red Hair

I did it! I dyed my hair red! I decided that I needed a change and so far I like it. Everytime I look in the mirror I'm a little in shock but I think it's just because it's so different! Hopefully I will grow to love it because I can't go back to what I had before which was blonde highlights!

Productive Day!

First things first! Jaxson is home and healthy! I can't wait to meet him!

Secondly, today the hubby and I acted like grown-ups and did a little work on our finances! We filed his taxes...whoo hoo! We also pulled both our credit scores and they were not as bad as we thought. We do have a few things against us but it's definately not so bad.

Sometime in the next month I will be recieving a nice little check from a trust fund set up by my grandparents. When that check comes we are going to spend it rather responsibly! The majority will be spent on getting things off our credit, catching up bills, and put into a money market account. Yay! We are growing up!!

We are going to spend a little on a new sofa and tv stand as well as my new camera, hopefully a Canon Rebel! And I think we are getting one of those little net book computers! But I am so proud of us for spending most of it on clearing up our credit because last time I got a check we did not!

And it's almost me birthday! On Tuesday I will be 27!

Now I'm going to relax with my hubby on the very cold and very rainy day!

My best friend, Kandi, gave birth to a little boy, Jaxon Charles, on Friday, January 15, 2010.

When he was born he was having trouble breathing to they took him for testing. Kandi and Tom were told that his lungs were a little weak and they put him on pressurized oxygen. Saturday morning they found out that he had a hole in his lung and the oxygen had actually caused his lung to collapse. He was transferred to a different hospital where they put a chest tube in. This oxygen acted as a medicine and as of this morning the tear is no longer visible!

God is awesome! Jaxson's lungs are a little underdeveloped but they should fix themselves in a couple of weeks. Now the big thing is to get this baby eating. If all goes according to plan he will be home with his mom, dad, brother, and sisters at the end of the week!
