Nantucket Style

I stumbled across Sproost.com and took a little test to see my decorating style and low and behold I was told that I like the beach, or rather, Nantucket style mixed in with a little bit of Cottage Chic and rounded out with Modern Elegance! Sounds about right!

I love the colors of the beach from the blues and the greens to the orange and the pink of the sunsets. It's very relaxing to me! I am trying to bring more of it into our house without overwhelming it since we live nowhere near a beach!

Anyways, if you're bored, it's a really quick test and you can find out your style!!

7 Years Ago Today...

Cameron asked me in the parking lot at the Mall of Georgia if I would be his girlfriend. Yes that's right, he actually used those words! We had just seen Fast and the Furious 2 and it was almost midnight and he was walking me to my car and he stopped and asked me. Now here we are 7 years later...married! Next month we will celebrate our 3 year anniversary!

So here are just a few pictures from the years, I didn't want to overwhelm anyone and I also didn't want to scan them all onto a disk yet!! It did make me think about how young we were though. He was only 19 and I was 20!

This was our 1 year anniversary!

This was our 3 year anniversary and we had been engaged for just over a month. You can't see the ring because the picture is kinda small.

This was when we used to be more active and go hiking once or twice a month! We really should do start doing that again!

This was on his parents boat one day few summers ago. Pretty sure we were not married yet but I could be wrong. It makes me sad not to have the dates on some of these!

Am I 18 again?

A few months ago I decided that my dream job was to be a children's photographer. I love kids and I love taking pictures of kids! So why not smoosh the 2 together and do something fun.

I was working full time as a nanny and I knew that in order to pursue this dream job I would have to change that so I decided that I would drop to 3 days a week and somehow find a job taking pictures! Sounds perfect! The problem is that noone will hire me until I have a portfolio. I lucked into a position with an up and coming children's photgrapher and I am hoping that will give me the skills necessary to find a job in September when portrait studios begin hiring holiday help...fingers crossed!

So now the problem is that I am only working Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and that's just not cutting it. I am having to resort to applying at all the places I applied to when I was 17 and 18 years old. I feel so blah about it. I'm trying to keep my hopes up because it's only temporary but I can't stand the thought of working at the mall.

On the bright side, my husband loves that I am home 2 nights a week and have dinner on the table to him for a change!!

One day I will get to where I am going. I guess I just have to keep my head up and keep working towards the end result which is holding a camera like the one below!! One day!!

Yummy Fondue!

Cameron took me to Dante's down the Hatch for our on year anniversary in 2004 and we started going every year after that. We missed last year because we had company from Germany but we made it this weekend even though it's not our anniversary!

Dante's is a very yummy fondue restaurant. I wish I had taken my camera inside but I forgot it in the car. It is basically a ship inside which is kinda awesome. There is live jazz music every night. The food and drinks are amazing!

Photo outside the entrance!

Outside of the restaurant are a bunch of older cars just sitting around. I think they are kinda neat!
